Juanita Fletcher
Turning Point

Hailing from Chesapeake, Virginia is Juanita Fletcher, who drops her junior release, Turning Point. It's also her first album with her own imprint, Tyler Girl Records.

A look at the album cover could lead you to assumptions. Fletcher's somewhat urban-flavored cover art serves as a clever wrapping for a decidedly traditional project. This 10-racker is an excellent insight into Fletcher's heart, while showcasing her desire to please God.

This devotion is evident in tracks like "All That Is In Me" and "So Good To Me." Also check out "Glorify Thy Name," a worship-filled track with a simple, but profound, chorus that will make a solid addition to any assembly's praise and worship arsenal.

Traditionalists will appreciate Fletcher's "Medley," as it fuses snippets of her favorite hymns such as "Secret Place," "Is There Anybody Here," and "Speak Lord." Fletcher sparks diversity with the jazz-infused "Do You Know Him," one of four songs that Fletcher pens herself. "Run All Night" is the album's lone urban track, and it too is a good fit for her.

The strength of this project is the transparency of Fletcher's passion, for it's palpable to all listeners, and the album is crafted so that this passion is the focal point. Fletcher's zeal coupled with an evident love for Christ help to make "Turning Point" an enjoyable listen.
